Know What's Possible!

Brett and I have been reading about the life of Moses, and we find so much to be learned from his life. One of the things that spoke to us the most is how God called him to a task knowing he would face resistance in the process… not once, not twice but ten different times. He had to attempt the same task in ten different ways to fulfill one of the many assignments God gave him, to free his people from slavery.

We love how Moses continued to obey God without question despite the resistance he faced.

We are not saying he never questioned God because he did
when the initial instructions were given. But once he made the decision to obey,
he did it without questioning despite sometime looking like what some might consider foolish.
Many of us, including Brett and I, might have given up after the third time. We might've been like, "okay, one more time, but third time's the charm, so if they aren't freed then, we're just gonna give up!"

Can you relate to that saying?

Maybe your people are not enslaved to a person, but they are enslaved to drugs, alcohol, pornography, mental health, fear, doubt, gossip, greed, laziness? You name it.

What kind of resistance are you getting?

Moses was lied to repeatedly by Pharoah that his people would be freed. In the same way, we might be lied to by those we love that they are free and will get it together, but they fall right back into what's enslaving them. What will you do then?

On top of the fact that you have to deal with the consequences of their slavery to a sin, they're lying to you in the same way Moses was lied to.  Would you forgive them?

Would you continue pursuing their freedom through prayer

and whatever other action God is calling you to do?

Would you give up after the third time?

Just like Moses didn't give up until his people were freed, let's make up our minds that we'll obey God however it is that He's calling us to address our people to be freed, no matter what the circumstances are or regardless of what we see.

In the New Testament, Jesus gives us an example much greater than Moses' ten attempts when He tells us that when it comes to forgiveness, don't think you are going above and beyond if you forgive someone seven or ten times but forgive them 70 x 7 times…

"Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord,

how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times:

but, Until seventy times seven"

Mathew 18:21-22 (KJV).

What assignment has God called you to?

Who are you praying for to be free from some form of slavery?

Let's agree in prayer:

Dear God, thank you for choosing us to your divine calling.

Help us to be obedient like Moses was, without question, regardless of the opposition we face so that our people will be freed from what enslaves them.

In your name, Amen!

Reclaiming What's Rightfully Yours! by Glenda L Krupnick

As we step into this new year, I wanted to share a personal story that I believe will resonate with many of you. Let's call it a story of redemption, faith, and the power of reclaiming what is rightfully yours. M onths passed, and I began searching for ways to make extra money from home to be able to fund this project which to me has been like the baby Hannah prayed for that she just couldn't let go . Hannah's story is found in 1 Samuel 1. Hannah had everything any woman could ever ask for except a son.  I have everything any woman could ever ask for, but I needed a purpose.  I have experienced purpose filled seasons, but this one project would allow me to share God's goodness in my life with the world and influence others for purpose to live with faith filled intention but I digress to the story.  We want to encourage you to let that be the beginning or recommitment of your life with Jesus. Don't give what is yours, or His I should say, your purpose to whoever or w...

Let's Talk About Gluttony! by Glenda Krupnick

On May 22, 2024 , I shared a post on our social media accounts that sparked a lot of feedback , prompting me to reflect on an often overlooked issue in the church: gluttony and its impact on physical and mental health. The first response was a rude comment, but I took no offense as I had asked for feedback.   Shortly after, a friend messaged me about how she had overeaten at a restaurant at the time of our post. This led to a conversation where I shared that overcoming gluttony is like running a marathon . Hebrews 12:1-4 encourages us to throw off the weights and sins that hold us back, “and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.”   We believe that’s key! What makes something a sin? If it becomes an idol, something we run to instead of running to God. In Exodus 20:3-5, we are commanded to have no other gods, which was echoed by someone who said that food can keep us from going to God, a struggle we’v...
